Fabric above roughly 300 GSM (grams per square meter) is considered heavyweight. Ours is 340 GSM — noticeably denser than the 260–300 GSM used in most retail hoodies, with a structured drape and a warmer, more substantial feel.
Why do printers prefer heavyweight blanks?
The tighter, denser knit gives ink a flatter, more stable surface. Screen prints come out crisper, DTF adheres more evenly, and embroidery doesn't pucker the fabric. On premium jobs, the blank's print behavior directly affects the shop's margins.
Are heavyweight hoodies too hot to wear?
No — weight is about density and structure more than warmth. A 340 GSM hoodie is comfortable roughly three seasons of the year, and it's the standard weight for streetwear worn year-round. Only 400+ GSM starts feeling like dedicated winterwear.
